In addition to providing leadership and technical direction for the database team, this role is a hands-on resource responsible to manage a wide range of database initiatives. The Sr. Manager drives database planning, implementation and support across ConnectiveRx. This role will collaborate across Infrastructure, Development, Security, Analytics and other teams to deliver innovative, efficient, quality and secure database solutions. Essential functions Recommend strategy and road map for Database Administration functions and capabilities to drive improvement for the delivery and execution of database actives; determine gaps and identify creative, performance, secure and supportable solutions for ConnectiveRx systems. Lead solutions for new database and application initiatives while considering implications across the broader environment. Lead the ongoing database administration and system management functions to ensure ConnectiveRx applications are operating optimally. Manage database maintenance, upgrades and optimization as needed. Collaborate across the company to understand changing business needs and communicate upcoming database changes. Manage SQL Server databases through multiple product lifecycle environments, from development to mission-critical production systems. Configure and maintain database servers and processes, including monitoring of system health and performance, to ensure high levels of performance, availability, and security. Apply data modeling techniques to ensure development and implementation support efforts meet integration and performance expectations. Independently analyze, solve, and correct issues in real time, providing problem resolution end-to-end. Manage ETL and reporting environment on SQL server and will develop ETL and reports. Refine and automate regular processes, track issues, and document changes. Assist developers with complex query tuning and schema refinement. Perform scheduled maintenance and support release deployment activities. Share domain and technical expertise, providing technical mentorship and cross-training to other peers and team members. Knowledge Extensive working knowledge of database systems. Performance Tuning and Optimization (PTO) using native monitoring and troubleshooting tools. High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) options for SQL Server, Encryption and de-identification capabilities. Skills Backups, restores, and recovery models. SSIS and SSRS for moving data and creating reports, Experience working with Windows server, including Active Directory. Microsoft SQL Server, AWS cloud database systems, Microsoft technical stack, .NET, C#, MS SQL, SSIS, SSRS. Education Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Math or Engineering Field preferred Experience 10+ years database administration, 3-5 years management Core Competencies Strong written and verbal communications, attention to detail and strong organization skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities well and to support outside of normal business hours.
